Centre for Musical Arts – Upper Strings Specialist

Centre for Musical Arts in Dubai are recruiting full-time Music Specialists for September 2018 for the following instruments:

• Upper Strings (Violin/Viola and ability to teach beginner Cello)

Successful candidates will join a team of 30 full-time teachers and will be required to teach children and adults. Candidates must be fluent English Language speakers and also have experience of teaching individually and in groups. The applicants should have the ability and experience to teach all music styles and experience in a British Curriculum school with ABRSM/Trinity music exam knowledge.

The applicants should have a proven track record in teaching their respective instrument to students as individual lessons (30, 45 minute or 1 hour) and group lessons on a peripatetic basis in local schools.   Terms are based on the British Curriculum school session with 13/14 week Fall and Spring term and a 10 week Summer term.

At least one year’s experience working with young children as well as adults is a requirement, as well as exposure to group teaching / peripatetic teaching preferably in an English Speaking International or British Curriculum school system or British music service system. Experience with bands, ensembles or youth orchestra / choir would also be useful.  The applicants should have a warm, personable demeanor, plenty of enthusiasm and strong organisational skills.

Music performance, pedagogy or education, with an emphasis in instrumental / vocal teaching are what we are looking for.

The ability to to teach other instruments will be highly considered, as well as the ability also accompany your students on piano and teach theory of music, as well as any experience with early years teaching.

Starting salary is AED 12,000 tax-free per month.  Package includes medical cover, flight allowance per year and 10 weeks paid holiday.
