Community Musicworks – Beginning Strings Specialist

Community MusicWorks seeks a Music Education/Beginning Strings Specialist to join the faculty of the Daily Orchestra Program at CMW for the academic year 2019-2020.

The Daily Orchestra Program brings children together in an intensive, daily, after-school program where they participate in orchestra, lessons, concerts, and workshops with guest artists. The Beginning Strings Specialist will play multiple roles that include teaching group mixed-string instrument classes of 10-12 beginning string players ages 6-9, teaching beginning string lessons,  and coaching a conductorless string orchestra of students.

The successful applicant will be joining a community of musicians who are passionate about exploring and building the connections between music and social justice, who are dedicated to continual growth and learning, who strive to build strong relationships with young musicians and their families, and who enjoy the challenges of both collaborative and individual work.
