Overview

Lancashire Music Service are seeking Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (WCIT) teachers. We are especially seeking teachers of Strings and Woodwind, but would welcome applications from all instrumental disciplines including Music Technology. Lancashire Music Service has been established for over 60 years and is the current lead partner for Lancashire Music Education Hub, we deliver tuition to over 20,000 pupils per week in a variety of settings.

WCIT is a key part of our offer and demand from our schools is extremely high. We aim to inspire pupils of all ages to develop a love of music making, and WCIT can often be the first engagement that children have with an instrument. As such, it is essential that this experience is positive and outstanding teachers are required to make this come to fruition.

To apply, you will have an enthusiastic and energetic approach and an open mind to learning new techniques and approaches. QTS is not required, although experience of teaching is desirable, and the ability to teach more than one instrument or instrumental family is also desirable. You will also be computer literate with experience of using music technology, with good organisational skills.

Please note this is a self-employed role, and may involve teaching at several schools in one day.

Please send your CV and covering letter that shows your suitability for the role based on the person specification to lancs.music@lancashire.gov.uk.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences to enrich our team. You can always contact Rick Kershaw on rick.kershaw@lancashire.gov.uk for a chat if there’s anything you want to talk about before you apply.
