Junior Academy offers outstanding tuition to young, talented musicians at Royal Academy of Music, one of the UK’s foremost music conservatoires. First String Experience (FSE) is a long-established first access musicianship and bowed string teaching programme for 4 to 7 year olds.

We seek to offer a paid fellowship to deliver and assist with the development of Community First Strings Experience (CFSE), which will take the First Strings Experience (FSE) programme into two London based primary schools over a three-year period. The CFSE programme started in September 2021 and plans to take on a new cohort each September to 2023-24. By 2023-24, 270 children will be enrolled on CFSE, in addition to those learning at the Academy on Saturdays.

The fellow will work 30 weeks per year, usually 5 hours every Tuesday and will travel between the two primary schools. The hours will increase from September 2023.

The successful applicants will provide expertise in cello, integrated with musicianship teaching from the earliest stages of learning.

A recruitment pack can be downloaded from www.ram.ac.uk/jobs.

Completed applications must be received by 10am on Friday 19 August 2022.
Interviews will be held onsite at the Academy on 5 September 2022.

The Academy accepts applications from non-UK citizens who have the right to work in the UK. Please note that the Academy is unable to provide a certificate of sponsorship for this role, as this role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker visa.

The Academy is committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.
The Academy values diversity and welcomes your application.
