The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra – Cello Section

The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) employs 66 full time musicians, and currently performs a 40 week season. The Musicians are employees of the Calgary Philharmonic Society and receive a comprehensive health benefit package including dental, prescription, disability, massage and physiotherapy. Currently the base annual salary for the 17/18 season is $50,672 (18/19 currently under negotiation) with a 10% pension contribution. The Calgary Philharmonic partners with The Calgary Opera, Alberta Ballet and the Honen’s International Piano Competition. Additional performance opportunities are available through an extensive Education and Outreach program. Currently the Orchestra and has a sizable endowment fund.
