Overview

The Danish Sinfonietta requires a Co-principal Cellist.
Auditions will be held in the Concert Hall, Værket, Randers, Denmark on March 5th, 2022.

1ST ROUND
– Joseph Haydn: Cello Concerto No 2 in D Major, 1st movement (with cadenza by Maurice Gendron)
– J.S. Bach: Cello Suite No 3 BWV 1009, 1st movement (prelude)

2. ROUND
– Antonin Dvorak: Cello Concerto, 1st movement OR
Robert Schumann: Cello Concerto, 1st movement
– Orchestral and chamber music excerpts.

3. ROUND
– Chamber music excerpts (with ensemble).
– Sight reading.

Music for the orchestral excerpts and chamber music excerpts will be available 14 days prior to the audition.

The Danish Sinfonietta will provide a pianist on the day of the audition, but all travelling, and board and lodging expenses, are the responsibility of the applicants themselves.

Salary and terms of engagement pursuant to the current agreements between the Danish musicians union and the Danish regional symphony orchestras.

Candidates who are not EU citizens are asked to keep themselves informed as to the current rules and regulations concerning work permits in Denmark.

The position also contains teaching duties.
